Saturday October 12, 2013

Dear Journal, Today started out a touch hectic as Jay and I rushed to get ready to drive to the Portland Oregon Temple after waking up late. We didn't want to miss out on this rare opportunity of actually having someone around to watch everyone, THANKS MOM! Our session helped to provide a refreshing moment away from the stresses of life and the new movie created was fairly insightful. Upon arriving back home we all had lunch then after John woke up from his nap we headed back out to go enjoy some time picking pumpkins with Grammie Smith, Aunt Katie, Uncle Cody and baby Maddie. The EZ Orchards place was of course extremely packed but it was still tons of fun for our boys and we got to spend 2 1/2 hours picking pumpkins, petting animals, riding on rocking horses, riding on mini pedal tractors, running around and seeing all the sights plus enjoying some delicious homemade pumpkin and apple cider doughnuts ... yum yum! After we finished picking pumpkins we headed over to Cody and Katie's place for some delicious chicken nachos and to watch the BYU game (they won by the way - 38/13 - against Georgia Tech). All in all it was a beautiful partly cloudy day, mid-50's, full of fun.
Just look at the size of the stem on this sucker!

First Seaside Visit (Saturday October 5, 2013)

Our first seaside visit took place in Lincoln City, OR. It was during the kite festival which was pretty cool to see and the kids enjoyed watching all the kites flying around them. All the kids enjoyed themselves and it was such an amazing day, bright, sunny with hardly any wind.
