When one door closes another one opens

It's been a little over a year since Jay graduated with his Associates in Architecture and Bachelors in Construction Management from Brigham Young University - Idaho. After numerous job applications and interviews with construction firms that all turned out to be a negative for us we made the decision to go back to school and pursue a career in the medical field hoping to find an alternative route that would prove to be more productive job wise. Jay went back to school to complete the required pre-recs for a career in the medical field. Our options were podiatry, osteopathic medicine, nurse practicioner, physical therapist, physician assistant or chiropractics. After much research, prayer and fasting we reached the decision to pursue the chiropractic route. To make a long post somewhat short we decided to move from Oklahoma to Wyoming after Jay wasn't able to find work to cut our move time in half. At the time of the move I was 7 months pregnant with our third child, hence another reason why we just stopped in Wyoming instead of completing our journey to Oregon. We lived with Jay's parents from June until our little Miss Evie Girl was born on September 7th. 5 days later we made the 16 hour move to Oregon where our unpacking began in our new apartment, on my birthday mind you. We were not overly impressed with our new place, especially when we found out we had an ant and flea issue. Ants, though I found annoying, I at least could understand, it rains here a lot. Fleas however, not so much and poor Jay and Michael got eaten alive by those pesky buggers. We had signed a 13 month lease so we figured that we were stuck in this place for that length of time (FYI: We mentioned the pest issue to our apartment managers and got the place bombed but there were still a few remaining ... yuck!). Through the grace of God we found out through a new tenant survey that we had a 30 day satisfaction as part of our contract. We were able to find a lot nicer (and cleaner)not to mention over a $100 cheaper 3 bedroom to rent, right next to Cody and Katie too which was a nice bonus. So 2 weeks after moving into our first place we moved once again and have put our foot down that unless the rent skyrockets after our contract ends in a year we will not be moving until after Jay graduates, 3 years from now. Jay starts his first day of Grad school October 7th which will begin a brand new adventure for the Mangum family. My goal: 1) To record our experiences in Oregon on this blog as often as possible (a photo journal of sorts) 2) To enjoy all that Oregon has to offer 3) To better improve the quality of our lives (it's been a rough last few years - time to make some changes)
